Swissmetal Industries is a fully integrated factory/plant.
All aspects of our manufacturing processes are controlled : from the melting in the foundry to the finished goods packaging.
This allows Swissmetal Industries to have complete traceability of quality and, therefore, guarantee the highest performance. In addition, our fully implemented quality management system provides the basis required for reliable planning, management and implementation of the quality characteristics in an organized and reproducible form.
The focus is on a process-orientated approach; meaning that in all areas of the company, e.g. from the initial customer contact via all production stages through to final inspection and delivery of the products. The individual stages with their complexity are viewed and managed as a single functioning unit. The quality management system, as a principle of organization, is based on and certified to the requirements of ISO 9001:2015, which has been successfully recertified in 2021 with the Bureau Veritas.
To be able to ensure the product characteristics requested by our customers, various measures are required to support the manufacturing and guarantee quality assurance.
In the modern materials laboratory, special recognized procedures for destructive and non-destructive material testing s are carried out in a professional manner. Customers may commission the laboratory to conduct individual inspection procedures for quality assurance.
During the whole production process, Swissmetal Industries cares about the quality of its products as well as about its industrial impact on the environment. In order to limit the consequences of its activities, the first ISO 9001 certificate was obtained in 1994 and the ISO 14001 certificate was obtained in 2003.
In 2021, both Swissmetal Industries’ production sites, Reconvilier and Dornach, successfully renewed the ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 certifications for their environmental management systems. This is the result of compliance with the legal norms, ongoing improvements, rational use of resources and the minimization of environmental risks and impacts. For example, depending on alloy type, Swissmetal Industries uses up to 100% of recycled raw material.
